Jamelie Taylor - Chair

Jamelie has been involved with FOAL since 2010.  A Foothill resident since 1972, she is a retired middle school English teacher and business owner.  She has been a docent for the Sierra Foothill Conservancy, and was a founding member of MCRF, the league for recreational youth sports in our area.

chris henson - vice chair

A Kansas native, Chris moved to California to teach American and World Literature at Fresno State. She moved to the foothills in 1992. Retiring after 36 years at CSUF, Chris is enjoying more time to read and volunteer. She joined the FOAL board in 2024 and jumped right into the role of vice chair.

Anne Neal - secretary

Anne is a founding member of FOAL, and shared:  "My husband Stan and I moved to the community in 1971 right after college; he had a job teaching at Sierra High School and I worked on my Masters in Library Science. In 1973 I was hired by Fresno County Public Library, running the Auberry library in addition to commuting to Fresno. I ran the Auberry library until my retirement in 2011. During that time I helped the library volunteers establish FOAL which I have been a part of ever since."

​Connie Schlaefer - treasurer

Connie joined the FOAL board in 2015.  She has been a Foothill resident from 1981-84, and again since she retired from the Air Force in 2009.  Connie is also the editor for the FOAL Focus newsletter

​lorraine Doyle - director

Lorraine is a long-time local resident, moving here in 1991, and is a retired Dept of Fish and Wildlife warden.  She has served on the FOAL board since 2013.  Lorraine is very active in the community, serving in the Historical Society and Mountain Wear as well.

Peter Mckinley - Director

After a career in the May Company in southern California, Peter relocated to Auberry in 2008. Peter joined the FOAL Board in 2024 after helping behind the scenes for several years. 

​beth linder carr - director

Beth is a semi-retired educator, having taught English, German, and Drama, serving 29 years at our local Sierra High.  She is now teaching German at Fresno City College. She has lived in our Foothills since 1989, and has served on the FOAL board since 2012.  Beth is an avid reader, writer, and hiker.

samantha fullbright - director

Samantha is a second-generation graduate from our local Sierra High School. She spends most of her time as the Retail Manager for Intermountain Nursery. Sam is a long-time fan of the Auberry Library, and at last count has checked out over 700 items over the years. In her spare time, you can find Sam spending time with her family, playing with her dogs, gardening, reading/listening to and collecting books.

​Kevin hill - Program director

Kevin has been a presence in both the FOAL concerts and music outreach for many years. He is a professional musician and music instructor ​in bass instruments. Kevin officially joined the FOAL leadership team in 2023.

Cheryl Thompson - Office Manager

Cheryl joined the FOAL team in early 2025 as our new office manager. She brings a treasure trove of experience and skills to our team. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1988, she’s worn many hats— owning businesses, working with CPA firms, and supporting non-profits. Most recently, she 
spent the last ten years lending her expertise to Sierra Veterinary Hospital in Auberry. Cheryl is a big fan of standard poodles, especially her own Fara, winner of multiple AKC awards. Disclaimer: this is not Cheryl or Fara ;-)
